National Mortgage Scheme (NMS)
The National Mortgage Scheme (NMS) is a groundbreaking initiative designed to make homeownership more accessible and affordable for Ghanaians. Through strategic partnerships with leading banks such GCB Bank PLC, Republic Bank Ghana PLC, and Stanbic Bank Ltd,the NMS offers standardized, low-interest mortgage products tailored to meet the needs of the average Ghanaian worker.
Powered by a blended finance model, the NMS combines concessional funding from the National Homeownership Fund (NHF) with market-based financing from partner banks.
This unique structure significantly reduces the overall mortgage rate, opening the door to affordable, long-term home loans for qualified applicants.
Beyond mortgages, the NMS also supports construction financing, ensuring that as access to financing improves, so too does the supply of decent housing across the country.
Key features of the scheme include a joint Joint Application Option which allows spouses or co-applicants to combine incomes to increase their eligibility.
The flexible eligibility criteria of the scheme is designed to accommodate a wide range of applicants.
Participating banks manage the scheme either directly or through their licensed subsidiaries or affiliates.
