Board Chairman

Okoamankra Kwame Akwonu X (Abraham Ekow Halm) was appointed as the Board Chairman for the National Homeownership Fund in August 2025 by the President of the Republic of Ghana.

He is a dynamic and dedicated traditional leader with decades of experience in governance, mediation, cultural advocacy, and regional development. He currently serves as the Paramount Chief & President of the Enyan Abaasa Traditional Council since his enstoolment in 1993.

His extensive leadership is marked by strategic vision and commitment to national service. He’s held significant national and regional appointments, including board membership on the Lands Commission and the National Commission on Culture, as well as on various important regional committees related to security, land use, arbitration, and chieftaincy conflict resolution.

He also serves as Vice President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs and is active in multiple judicial and research committees that enhance traditional governance and dispute resolution.

His academic background includes a Diploma in Nursing from the University of the District of Columbia, USA, and a BA (Hons.) in Economics and Sociology from the University of Ghana.
